Take Control of Your Health & Fitness in 2023
Stop Listening to ‘Experts’ Who Do Not Care About You
Regardless of what shape you’re in right now, or whether or not you’ve made any New Year’s resolutions with regard to your health, exercise and/or diet, everyone should plan on taking control of their health and fitness starting today.
And really, there’s no need to make a resolution in order to totally ignore the health and fitness advice coming from ANY governmental agency, from any country, state or city. Everyone needs to question every shred of information that comes from ‘the authorities,’ whether it’s your government, your doctor, or your school nurse.
Let 2023 be the year that people take control of their health and fitness, and stop relying on those who do not have - and have not had - our best interests in mind.
There are more than enough reasons to become an independent thinker with regard to what you do with your body, and the government’s track record of providing us with information, and protecting our health - and those who parrot the ‘company line’ - is so bad that now is the time to stop listening what ‘our betters’ are telling us.
From the ‘No-Fat’ revolution of the 1970’s, which led to the ‘Cholesterol Obsession’ of the past 20+ years, to the covid vaccine debacle, the government has been extraordinarily, and consistently, wrong. And when the explosive increases in infectious diseases, heart disease, Type 2 Diabetes, allergies, asthma, obesity, and autism are considered, the failure of our public health officials, for at least 50 years, is clear.
There is no way to justify the continued support of the current public health system, and specifically those people who have been in charge and involved with policy making in this era of total failure. During a period of almost unprecedented economic growth, prosperity, and scientific advances, our society has seen an decrease in mortality, but an increase in morbidity.
People are living longer, but are less healthy. Life span is up, health span is down.
As 2022 ended and 2023 begins, there are a wide range of stories that illustrate just how ineffective the vaccines and boosters have been. If our faith in the system wasn’t already severely damaged, recent stories about members of the medical establishment making excuses for their pro-mandate/pro-lockdown stance, and the 180 degree turnaround on prescribing safe, simple, and effective over-the-counter covid remedies has eroded what little credibility the establishment had left.
Whether their actions were misfeasance or malfeasance, there is no defending the record of our public health system, or the media sycophants who parroted the ‘company line.’ From the beginning of the covid scare we were lied to and misled. Whether it was empty-headed news readers on morning shows telling people to stay away from relatives and friends, or the medical director of the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases baselessly telling people stay 6 feet apart when going for a walk outside.
The list is endless, and there’s no reason to rehash and get aggravated.
Bad information is being pushed on us from all quarters with regard to exercise, (we’re told to do too much and there are too many cooks), nutrition (we’re told not to eat foods that we require to grow and thrive), and general lifestyle (we’re prescribed medicine that addresses symptoms rather than given strategies to attack root causes).
So what can we do about this? Who should we listen to?
I have gotten away from ‘telling’ people what to do. Frankly, it amazes me that so many people listen so easily to people who have little standing to be telling others how to eat, sleep, exercise, etc., and that people listen to friends, family, bartenders, hair dressers, firemen, social media influencers, and other randoms.
My goal is to point people in the proper direction, and then let them start to think for themselves. The issue with this approach is that it requires work by the individual; YOU.
I tell people, if they are interested, that their health and fitness needs to be treated like a serious hobby; you need to devote some time and effort, both physical and mental.
So here’s where I start, as I give you a few books to get you going on this journey. I’ve read or listened to these books - at least once - and constantly refer back to them. They are not exercise or diet books, but books that will help you to realize that there is more to being healthy than diet and exercise; there are things that you can do - immediately - without needing to step foot into a gym or add any other activities to your day.
